PERRYSVILLE, Ind. — Kenneth Gene Owens, 48, of 10 E. Ninth, died at 11:40 p.m. yesterday (Nov. 28, 1968) at Lake View Hospital where he had been a patient one day. He had been ill the past year. Born Oct. 8, 1920, in Fairmount, he was the son of Ishmael and Ethel Dearing Owens. Surviving is his mother of Perrysville; three brothers, Max, Perrysville; Ishmael Jr., Newport, and Robert, Covington; two sisters, Mrs. Betty Martin, Danville, and Mrs. Mary Tanner, Covington, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother. He served in the Army for three years during World War II. He has been employed by the P & E Railroad since 1952. Services will be at 2 p.m. EST, Sunday at the Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home, Covington. The Rev. Ivan Steed will officiate. Burial will be in Hicks Cemetery.
